Grandfather Peter's Prayer for Today

GRANDFATHER'S PRAYER FOR TODAY.
May we always remember that to pray together for a common cause is stronger than praying alone! Help us today to pray together for healing for those in need.
To be bound together for a common purpose, whether it is as a family, group, community, or species ensures the survival of the purpose if it is within the law. There are many examples of this. One arrow on its own can easily be broken but several bound together cannot. The United Nations working in unison is another and a classic example of "One heart, one mind, within the law".
When we act with like-minded individuals as a group to pray, manifest, or even to create degrees of control, which we define as evil or black magic, it has an effect. It has to be balanced with greater force praying for the good.
Where the efforts of an individual may equal one unit, the efforts of two praying or healing for a common goal with equal energy will affect the energy of twenty units instead of the sum total of two. With three, the resultant energy explodes further. The longer pure thought (the exclusion of any other thought) of one's desired goal is held in the mind, the more powerful the result. Holding pure thought for an increment in time is the beginning lesson of manifestation.
The controlling regimes of the past and even now use the rallying cry of "To divide is to conquer", for they know the strength of group endeavour. If we are to counteract this we could do no worse than use "The brotherhood of man", as our rallying cry. Not only must mankind fulfil love for the family, community and nation, he must think in wider terms of humanity itself, and so bring the law of Brotherhood into expression.
"Will your actions today benefit all,For brotherhood is a group quality, or will someone or the group suffer or be hurt because of your actions"
TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

Note. This statement reminds me of the power of the people in Egypt today.

Grandfather Peter's Prayer for Today

GRANDFATHERS PRAYER FOR TODAY.

A wise grandmother once told me to forgive the users and takers in the world for they have taught you a lesson not to be used or taken. But she also said “Without compassion forgiveness does not work. Today may I start by forgiving myself?
---------------------------------

Forgiveness.

At this time around the time around the Winter Solstice, Christmas and the New Year there is a natural resonance that is resplendent with the song of Forgiveness. It is a quality of Spirit easily accessed, embodied, activated and experienced. Forgiveness is the key in which the song of life is sung at the Winter Solstice, just as Appreciation is at the time of the Summer Solstice.Forgiveness is, however, not something we do. It is not something we offer to another (nor our own Self). Forgiveness is a state of being, a frequency at which our Soul resonates when Forgiveness sings its song. When we are in the state of Forgiveness we may hold attention upon the presence of another (or our own Self), embracing that person in Forgiveness. When we are in the state of Forgiveness all that we place our attention upon, in a sincere attitude of acknowledgment and responsibility, dissolves in the burst of Love that comes forth from the relinquishment of our guilt, anger, pain, resentment, grudge or debt. From the release of guilt arises the possibility of apology and atonement. When we release resentment the poison it spreads through our entire interaction with the world is drained, leaving the way for understanding to grow. As we forgive the debts owed us, but never paid - be they financial, emotional or obligations - we are able to let go of betrayal and the fear that unless we are paid in full we will suffer hardship, when, in actuality, if someone has owed you (money or whatever) for over a year, and you are still alive and able to make it through another day/week/month, then really, you no longer truly require the indebted asset to survive. You have, somehow, made it. By relinquishing the grudge of debt you not only free the other party from their suffering, but your own suffering is released as well. After all, if that person could have paid you, if they were capable of it, they would have done so. If they are not capable (and I include the capability of conscience in that), they will never pay you anyway... so let it go! At that point, holding a grudge of debt only promotes you as being 'right', and with it, poisoned with mistrust, resentment, anger and pain. And this helps you how?
For Forgiveness to be active in our life does not require that we announce to the persons we hold in Forgiveness that we have done so (though, sometimes, it is appropriate that we do so). Forgiveness does not require that the other person has asked us to forgive them. It is not relevant as to whether the other person forgives us as well. The burden of judgment and resentment that is strung about the neck of us each is of our own concern and choosing. The guilt and judgment we carry we carry in our own heart. Forgiveness allows us the means of releasing this poison when we are sincere in our acknowledgment of culpability and responsibility. Forgiveness does not make 'OK' a wrong, nor is Forgiveness itself the act of atonement that may be required to reinstate balance. It does not let us 'off the hook'. Forgiveness enables us to no longer be crippled with shame and anger, so that we can embark afresh upon a new course in life, a course charted into the vast ocean of Compassion and a greater availability to the
All-That-Is that we call Life.

Grandfather Peter's Prayer for Today

GRANDFATHER’S PRAYER FOR TODAY.

My Creator may help me to keep an open mind and loving heart and when I am ready

“Teach Me”
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When we are young we have a tendency to think we know everything and take the view that those older than ourselves are just “old fogies”. But sometimes we never change and think when we are older we know everything and get set in our ways.

When the realisation comes that we do not know everything we become “teachable”. There is a lot of truth in the old saying, “when the student is ready the teacher appears”. The ancestors are always ready to help and to teach, but we can only hear them when we show humility, respect and are ready to listen. We are then ready for the spiritual lessons to help us grow.

"When you get older and you are ready, your ancestors will show up to guide you."

The souce of all religion

THE SOURCE OF ALL CREATION

IN THE ORIGINAL RELIGION.

The story of Creation from the early Stone Age reveals the source of all religion. If we return to the source we can again connect ourselves with the healing and unifying powers of the Universe. This places us in the right relationship to the Whole. This place is our very own centre in which we are the children of the Earth and the Sun, and be able to live in harmony with the visible and the invisible. The people of the early Stone Age understood and experienced their lives as an integral part of the family of creation amidst all things on the Earth, the plants, the stones and the animals. These relationships allowed them to access freely all powers contained within the Sacred Circle of Life.

Its caretakers, The Native American Shamans, are revealing the primeval religion at this time. It should not be misinterpreted as a super- imposition of their philosophy and way of life on our culture. Their duty was to keep the ancient wisdom within their campfires and to pass it on when the time was right. This time is now. But it was not only Native American wisdom that was to be passed on at this time. Their wisdom was common knowledge to all people at that time, for it is the wisdom from the SOURCE.

In the early religion, the story of creation employs the image of a circle, which possesses the power to cleanse all dogmatic religions of their false and incomplete doctrines. This true religion represents the intact power of reality for us who live in the modern world of separateness, tensions and countless contradictions. It is the natural way for us to explore as it opens up naturally our personal relationship with the Whole and to discover our origin without preconceived ideas and dogmas. Religions that set up dogmas have always needed to rationally explain and prove themselves. It is as if they have to justify their beliefs at the expense of others. Just think about the Crusades or the Inquisition.

If we try to understand the early Stone Age wisdom and the Medicine Wheel as well as ancient Shamanism with only the help of our rational modernistic minds we would fall back into this dogmatic religion and would be unable to honour and respect its oneness and universality. Only when we start to reawaken the fourfold powers of our consciousness will we be able to live in harmony with these forces. These four forces, powers or paths mark our relationship with reality and enable us to be centred within ourselves.

These four paths are commonly referred in Shamanic terms as the Sacred Four and can be seen on the Medicine Wheel above.

: The path of the East is the power of the SPIRIT

: The path of the West is the power of the Will and Body

: The path of the South is the power of the Emotions.

: The path of the North is the power of the Mind

Each one is considered sacred because it heals and leads us to the Whole.

The power of the Medicine Wheel, wherein the sacred four leads us to the centre and the Whole, and outwards to every direction helps us to become whole and completely unfold our consciousness. It is power or medicine to enable us to re-connect the two halves of our brain: the left side that carries our sensory data and governs our waking state, and the right side that produces our dreams and governs our instincts.

The Medicine Wheel lifts the two “homilies” of evolution to a new plane of consciousness by bring together “Homo Fabians” and “Homo Sapiens” resulting in “Homo Divinians”

MAY FESTIVAL

MAY FESTIVAL (6th May)and/or Mayday
The Festival of the Northeast

As we continue our yearly cycle around The Shamanic Medicine Wheel, symbolic of the earth's travel around the sun. We arrive at the Festival of the Northeast, The May Festival. At this time our ancestors teach us how we can celebrate with them around the May tree and Maypole. We make garlands of spring flowers and ribbons to decorate the Maytree/Pole and dance and sing around it. Pan, the horned god, makes an appearance to lead us in our dance. He helps us open up our senses to be in tune with the Earth .We become one with the essence of the stone, plant and animal people. We become intoxicated with the wealth of shapes and forms around us, to be enchanted by the nurturing bosom of our Great Earth Mother. She receives all her children into her loving bosom, energising and giving us the renewal of life itself. Heaven and Earth love one another and let us take part in the feast, so that we may discover healing in the Oneness of all beings.
The pulsating sap and the emerging leaves of the May Tree reaches over and touches us and we feel its current, its upward surge from the roots to the crown. Our blood quickens in unison through all our arteries, and its healing green of life envelops us like a blanket of leaves.
We have come to the Maytree with our medicine shields to display and share them with all our companions in the Dance. The Power of Motion, the powers of the Nagual, the sacred nine and nineteen come to us in this Celebration. They shower us with their horn of plenty to move our medicine, to transform it more and more into the healing elixir-- one that will beautify the Earth. Our four shields become round: we dance with them and balance their four lights in all of the four sacred directions.
As we make contact with our older brothers and sisters in the stone, animal and plant kingdoms they help us dive into the world of matter. We listen to the sounds and vibrations of their language; we smell their scents and taste the composition of their Work. The splendours of colours around us streams into our bodies and lets its light shine like a rainbow that arches across Heaven and Earth.

Grandfather Peter's Prayer for Today

GRANDFATHER’S PRAYER FOR TODAY.

May we always remember that whatever our beliefs are, wherever we live on this planet, and whoever our neighbours are.
We are all part of the human family and
ALL ONE TRIBE

Indigenous Peoples are a significant and important portion of humanity. Their heritage, their ways of life, their stewardship of this planet, and their cosmological insights are an invaluable treasure house for us all.
The word Indigenous has many meanings. In every region of the world, many different cultural groups live together and interact, but not all of these groups are considered indigenous or inherent to their particular geographic area. In fact, it is only in the face of a collective or shared sense of identity that the term indigenous peoples have been internationally recognized.
Indigenous Peoples live in every region of the world. They live in climates ranging from Arctic cold to Amazon heat, and often claim a deep connection to their lands and natural environments. For many indigenous peoples, the natural world is a valued source of food, health, spirituality and identity. Land is both a critical resource that sustains life and a major cause of struggle and even death.
Each indigenous culture is distinct and unique. While many peoples may express similar worldviews and a common indigenous identity, their cultures are nonetheless based on different histories, environments, and creative spirits.
The Universal Declaration of Human Rights affirms the inherent dignity, equality, and inalienable rights of all members of the human family. The rights of all members of indigenous populations are included in this declaration. However, Indigenous Peoples also have rights as distinct cultural groups or nations.
"Humankind has not woven the web of life. We are but one thread within it. Whatever we do to the web, we do to ourselves. All things are bound together. All things connect." - Chief Seattle

Grandfather Peter's Prayer for Today

GRANDFATHER’S PRAYER FOR TODAY.

I pray today that all of us will take time out to see, feel, work, and create our own visions.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ancient One sat in the shade of his tree in front of his cave. Red
People came to him and he said to Red People,
"Tell me your vision." And Red People answered,
"The elders have told us to pray in this manner, and that manner,
and it is important that only we pray as we have been taught for
this has been handed down to us by the elders."
"Hmmmm," said the Ancient One.
Then Black People came to him and he said to Black People,
"Tell me your vision."
And Black People answered,
"Our mothers have said to go to this building and that building and
pray in this manner and that manner. And our fathers have said to
bow in this manner and that manner when we pray. And it is important
that we do only this when we pray."
"Hmmmm," said the Ancient One.
Then Yellow People came to him and he said to Yellow People,
"Tell me your vision."
And Yellow People answered,
"Our teachers have told us to sit in this manner and that manner and
to say this thing and that thing when we pray. And it is important
that we do only this when we pray."
"Hmmmm," said the Ancient One.
Then White People came to him and he said to White People,
"Tell me your vision." And White People answered, "Our Book has told
us to pray in this way and that way and to do this thing and that
thing, and it is very important that we do this when we pray."
"Hmmmm," said the Ancient One.
Then Ancient One spoke to the Earth and said,
"Have you given the people a vision?"
And the Earth said,
"Yes, a special gift for each one, but the people were so busy
speaking and arguing about which way is right they could not see the
gift I gave each one of them."
And the Ancient One asked same question of Water and Fire and Air
and got the same answer.
Then Ancient One asked Animal, and Bird, and Insect, and Tree, and
Flower, and Sky, and Moon, and Sun, and Stars, and all of the other
Spirits and each told him the same.
Ancient One thought this was very sad. He called Red People, Black
People, Yellow People, and White People to him and said to them.
"The ways taught to you by your Elders, and your Mothers and
Fathers, and Teachers, and Books are sacred. It is good that you
respect those ways, for they are the ways of your ancestors. But the
ancestors no longer walk on the Face of the Earth Mother. You have
forgotten your own Vision. Your Vision is right for you but no one
else. Now each of you must pray for your own Visions, and be still
enough to see them, so you can follow the way of the heart. It is a
hard way. It is a good way.

MEDITATION FOR THE WEEK

MEDITATION FOR THE WEEK

CHA WAKAN

(TREE OF LIFE)

KEYWORD—ACCEPTANCE

TRADITION and TEACHINGS

The Tree of Life is the archetype of all spiritual knowledge. Its representation can be found in many cultures throughout the World. The Great Tree of Peace of the Iroquoian confederacy. The Tree of Ydrasil in Norse Mythology, the Apple tree in the Garden of Eden. In all trees the trunks forms branches and from the branches leaves are formed. We humans are like leaves, we reach certain ripeness, and then the time comes when we have to go back to the spirit world. Our bodies go to the earth, like leaves of the tree. To give life to trees to come after us.

Message from CHA WAKAN.

In me all life is one: There is no separation and no demarcation of “other.” The nuances of vision may vary as may our individual perceptions, as every leaf has a different view of the same picture. But every leaf relies on the same sap to give it life and is nowhere separated. But in each leaf is its own exaltation. I am the bearer of this knowledge, this understanding, this experience of grace; however you may insist on believing you are apart from that which is in you, which surrounds you. The law that is, All will bring you to me, to union and communion.

In this knowing I bless you!

GUIDANCE and REFLECTION.

The Tree of Life reminds us of patience and acceptance as we travel the Wheel of Life on our spiritual path. Open up your heart to all your brothers and sisters and to all creation relinquishing your judgments and expectations (of yourself and others). Allow all our relations to be exactly who they are; and accept who you are. We are all connected, parts of the Tree of life in its thick foliage. Although each leaf has its own individual form and life, all grow from the same source, the same roots: all sway together in the same breezes. The tree grows strong and tall, with each leaf adding its part to the beauty of the whole. We must accept that each of us is only one leaf; by itself, one leaf does not make a tree.

Let us honour the diversity of Spirit and rejoice in our own individual places within the fabric of creation.

AFFIRMATION

I give honour to my place in the scheme of things and acknowledge my

“Right to Be”

Grandfather's Prayer for Today

GRANDFATHER'S PRAYER FOR TODAY

My Creator, in the remembering times may I never forget the memories you have blessed me with.

Throwing the Memory Back
Our old ones talk of throwing the memory back and usually accompany this with the hand movement, The hand movement is one of a cupped palm that starts at the ear and continues past the back of the head. It appears to be a gesture of telling someone to come toward you but is meant to throw something over the shoulder and past the head. This is the throwing of the memory back.
We all carry a genetic coding for our bodies and our people also know that we carry a genetic memory coding. This memory goes beyond this time and lets us connect with our ancient ancestors and their times. We carry them sometimes in the story telling, also in the knowing about things with no prior physical connection and with a "gut feeling".
It is a relating in all ways both with the mind the body, spirit and soul. This way is not unique to the American Natives but to all cultures and people. Many have forgotten how to remember, and have never been taught or are unaware how, so are now seeking their connection through other cultures and heritages.
The good thing about getting old is that you have some memories to fall back on and to remember.

Like the first sight of your first-born's head appearing into the world.
The smile and feeble gripping of the hand as a loved passed over onto the blue road.
Seeing a pack of wolves come into your camp after calling them in for two months.
Seeing the sunset while sailing among the Caribbean Islands.
So much to remember, and very little time to forget.

I have certainly been blessed.

Grandfather's Prayer for Today

GRANDFATHER'S PRAYER FOR TODAY.
My Creator, teach me today to know the true meaning of compassion.

Do we really know what compassion is? Very often we get compassion mixed up with sympathy. Sympathy is often defined into getting into another's feelings to share their feelings. Compassion goes much further. I believe it is not so much in getting into another's feelings but to understand that we all have our own feelings and the sharing comes in the unconditional support we can give to each other in times of grief. This is much in evidence today with the needless slaughter of innocent people, especially the children, in the world today. The outgoing solidarity of grief and the support for those close to them in their grief is a good example of compassion.
The elders and wise religious leaders say one never really knows compassion unless one has suffered and sacrificed oneself for the good of all. One never can learn and understand what unconditional love really is unless one has suffered the lack of love.
Maybe we should start by loving ourselves more and being a bit more compassionate to ourselves. By stopping beating ourselves up we may find how to stop beating up on others.
May our tears of compassion be felt to all who need our unconditional love!

Grandfather's Prayer for Today

GRANDFATHER'S PRAYER FOR TODAY.
Thank you my Creator for allowing me to be human, but in doing so helps me realise I am
!

TATANKA OYATE
THE BISON NATION/MAN
Attainment.
In Lakota tradition the ninth Great Mystery is the creation of Humankind on earth. Tatanka is the Lakota name given to the Bison or Buffalo. But the name does not truly convey the true spiritual significance attached to the Buffalo. The ancient name Pte′ meant "the people", in harmony, "realising the highest form." Tatanka Pte′, "the people of the buffalo (bison)"signifies the interrelationship of the bison with the people who used every part of the great beast for sustenance and survival
The White Buffalo Calf Woman, Pte san Wi, is the prophet who came to teach the sacred ways to the people. Her gifts of the Sacred Pipe and its ceremony are also derived from the spiritual energy of the buffalo.
The sacred chant and song says "A Bison nation is walking, A Bison nation is walking…. I give you this beautiful earth, and upon it you shall live and multiply. I give you the Sacred Pipe, and with it you shall come to the centre of the earth. All that you ask will be given to you."
TATANKA OYATE'S Message
I am here with you: Spirit of the Bison Nation, Spirit of the creation of Humanity. I saw fit to put upon the Earth one who would live different from his brothers and sisters, yet not; one who would join together the spirit of all beings, yet remain intact. I am present in this day among you. Do not deny me for I seek recognition from you. I am the very essence of animal/ human kinship. I am that, Aho Mitakuye Oyasin (to all my Relations).
REFLECTION and GUIDANCE.
It is time to give yourself the credit you deserve for being human. Through past actions and faith you are where you are today. You are always growing into something carrying with you the talents and gifts you have been given and learnt. Acknowledging this allows you attain your highest goals on both a spiritual and physical level. But never forget to give thanks for all you have attained as well as congratulating yourself for a job well done. You are where you are through patience and perseverance, even though you may not realise it.
Maybe you have not yet achieved the fruits of your labour. Just use all your resources, gifts and skills more fully. Keep the faith and be patient-- success is on the way. There is so much for all us to accomplish in our lives, and it is all there, waiting for us, one step at a time.

Grandfather's Prayer for Today

GRANDFATHER'S PRAYER FOR TODAY.
I closed my eyes today, and in the silence, found you waiting there for me. Thank you My Creator for waiting.

Our eyes can only see our beliefs. Our beliefs cause us to make assumptions, draw conclusions and cause confusion. Our five senses are very limiting. The Creator has a way of allowing us to see or know the spiritual world. This is called the Sixth Sense. The Sixth Sense is like a radar system; our personal radar system. It will help us "see" opportunities and help us avoid disaster. This Sixth Sense is a direct connection to the Creator. We must learn to listen to it. We must learn to trust it. We must learn to act on it even if our head says differently. We must learn to look at things through our spiritual eyes, for they are also the eyes of the Great One.
BE STILL, CLOSE YOUR EYES, AND SEE FROM YOUR HEART, AND YOU WILL SEE YOUR TRUTH!

Grandfather's Prayer for Today

GRANDFATHER'S PRAYER FOR TODAY

A prayer for the New Year

My Creator, hear my prayer! I ask that whenever the leaders of the world's peoples confer together to make decisions that effect us all, that they use their power wisely. May they always remember:
'What goes around, comes around'

Wisdom of the Circle
I cannot help but wonder where all the people are who were so supportive of the original teachings. I think the shift in the energy of how and what was taught has changed so and many are disillusioned from it. All things are changing in this world so fast we all need to keep our eyes focused on the outcome and what it will do to affect the future. Those people who cannot walk into the next world without control and material issues will not be able to function for the good of all. People of competitive nature will not be able to control or use mind strategy to control others to do there bidding.
The teachings are for all the people and are there to share so we need to continue to do this. Community is what will come out of all of this work and change. People will learn that in order to be accepted they must first earn the right to that and cannot walk on the backs of others to obtain power. People are more aware of the issues that motivate the greedy and will make a protection of energy to keep this sort of negative energy from harming their circle. It will take strong leaders and ones not afraid to confront others and sit and talk these issues out. People will be asking to discuss their personal issues and to make peace within the hoop of community in order to survive. The talking sticks will be used for this and four mediators will sit in council. A consensus will be reached and the issue will then be dismissed never to be brought up again in council. If this is not agreed on by all then the one who cannot live with this will have a choice to leave or conform for the good of the circle.
This is the way to keep a strong and whole circle. All it takes is a person, who is running their issues and draining energy from the circle for there own use and not as a healing, to destroy the work of many who have agreed to live in harmony.

GRANDFATHER PETER(Tread softly on the Earth Mother)
