Grandfather's Prayer for Today

GRANDFATHER’S PRAYER FOR TODAY.

My Creator help me always to be like a hollow bone, allowing your power to flow through me.

We must never become like a stagnant lake with no outlet. Love and healing always flows, and we are but channels for its communicative grace. If you experience the forgiving, healing power of the Great One’s peace, then you will be the channel of its flow to other lives.

Where the river flows there will be fertility and fruitfulness,

Let there be Peace NOW

As One We Walk This Earth Together

As on we walk this earth together,

As one we sing to her our song,

As one we love her,

As one we heal her,

Her heart beats with our own as one.

As one we join with her, our Mother,

As one we feel her sacred song,

As one we touch her,

As one we heal her,

Her heart beats with our own as one.

MEDITATION FOR THE WEEK

MEDITATION FOR THE WEEK

CHA WAKAN

(TREE OF LIFE)

KEYWORD—ACCEPTANCE

TRADITION and TEACHINGS

The Tree of Life is the archetype of all spiritual knowledge. Its representation can be found in many cultures throughout the World. The Great Tree of Peace of the Iroquoian confederacy. The Tree of Ydrasil in Norse Mythology, the Apple tree in the Garden of Eden. In all trees the trunks forms branches and from the branches leaves are formed. We humans are like leaves, we reach certain ripeness, and then the time comes when we have to go back to the spirit world. Our bodies go to the earth, like leaves of the tree. To give life to trees to come after us.

Message from CHA WAKAN.

In me all life is one: There is no separation and no demarcation of “other.” The nuances of vision may vary as may our individual perceptions, as every leaf has a different view of the same picture. But every leaf relies on the same sap to give it life and is nowhere separated. But in each leaf is its own exaltation. I am the bearer of this knowledge, this understanding, this experience of grace; however you may insist on believing you are apart from that which is in you, which surrounds you. The law that is, All will bring you to me, to union and communion.

In this knowing I bless you!

GUIDANCE and REFLECTION.

The Tree of Life reminds us of patience and acceptance as we travel the Wheel of Life on our spiritual path. Open up your heart to all your brothers and sisters and to all creation relinquishing your judgments and expectations (of yourself and others). Allow all our relations to be exactly who they are; and accept who you are. We are all connected, parts of the Tree of life in its thick foliage. Although each leaf has its own individual form and life, all grow from the same source, the same roots: all sway together in the same breezes. The tree grows strong and tall, with each leaf adding its part to the beauty of the whole. We must accept that each of us is only one leaf; by itself, one leaf does not make a tree.

Let us honour the diversity of Spirit and rejoice in our own individual places within the fabric of creation.

AFFIRMATION

I give honour to my place in the scheme of things and acknowledge my

“Right to Be”

Grandfather's Prayer for Today

GRANDFATHER’S PRAYER FOR TODAY.
My Creator, help me to remember the words spoken yesterday are still relevant today.

THE COMING OF THE WHIRLING RAINBOW

We are all aware of the earth changes that are happening at this time of the new millennium. Global warming, water and air pollution, drought, famine, depletion of the rain forests and, over population, is all on the increase.
Native prophecies foretell this time as being the fourth world of separation where division occurs between the natural way of living, of respect, love and harmony with the environment and all our relations on this planet and the way of the materialistic world, of raping the earth and the environment and not giving back to it in balance is on the increase.
Unless we, as humans, learn how we can bridge this gap between the materialistic and natural worlds we will all suffer and the earth will purify itself as it has before. Future generations will not enter in to the coming fifth world of illumination and the joining of the whirling rainbow of peace where all races, creeds and all our relations on this planet can come together as part of the whole. By learning from the ancient wisdom of our ancestors we can help ourselves and generations to come.
So we can truly look forward to the coming of the Whirling Rainbow of Peace and the healing of ourselves.

Grandfather's Prayer for Today

GRANDFATHER’S PRAYER FOR TODAY.
My Creator, help me to be true to myself and always speak the truth. But also remind me to be silent when it would hurt another.
--------------------------------------------------
With all the turmoil in the world today we need the World leaders and Politicians to have the courage to speak the real truths to us all and be clear in their motives. To really get our trust and support they must stop talking around the situations, in half truths and with forked tongues.
--------------------------------------------
"If people are going to get back into balance, one of the things they have to do is seek the truth. They have to start really speaking the truth themselves, and that's a difficult thing to do. The way it is now in the world, we don't mind lying." --John Peters (Slow Turtle), WAMPANOAG

GRANDFATHER’S PRAYER FOR TODAY.
Help me my Creator, to remember that every footprint I make on our Mother has been walked before by the ancestors and will be walked upon by the children to come

Mother Earth is the source of life and the place all life returns to. She gives us life. She feeds us through our journey and she waits for us to return to her. The Indian way is to recognize the earth as the place of our ancestors. That is why certain places on earth are considered sacred areas and sacred land; this is the place of our ancestors. We all need to reflect upon the earth, the place where our ancestors lived. We need to have love and respect for the earth.

Grandfather's Prayer for Today

GRANDFATHER’S PRAYER FOR TODAY.
My Creator, help me to always “have no fear of being afraid.

Fear can't learn, which is why you must learn about fear if you ever wish to be a fearless learner. So, the first thing you must learn is how to get past your fear of being afraid. Here's how. The next time a fear of some kind tries to fill one of your moments, try to see the difference between the fact of your situation and your feelings about it. This is the right use of your mind. For instance, it's a fact that interest rates change. It's not a fact you have to get scared when they do. That fear is not a fact of life, but only becomes one for you as long as you insist that life performs according to what you think are your best interests. As you learn to see that these fearful feelings don't belong to you, but only to your wrong thinking, you cease to be afraid, even of your own fears.

Grandfather's Prayer for Today

GRANDFATHER’S PRAYER FOR TODAY.
Help me realise today that my real needs are always met and I will be able to learn what I need to know, if I have faith and trust.

Learn to let go of painful pretence.
Most people approach their troubles with one of these two non-solutions: they either pretend their problem isn't a problem, or they pretend they've solved their troubles with temporary cover-ups. But their pain remains. It doesn't have to be this way for you. You can learn to let go of painful pretence. Here's how. When facing an old problem, what you don't want is another "new way" to deal with it. What you really want is to learn something new about the true nature of what has a hold on you. To go far, start near. When faced with any pain, let go of what you think you know. Act towards your trouble as if you don't know anything about it. This new solution is the only true one because the truth is you don't know what the real problem is. Otherwise you wouldn't still have it. Letting go of what you think you know puts you in the right place for learning what you need to

Grandfather's Prayer for Today

GRANDFATHER’S PRAYER FOR TODAY.
My Creator, help me always to remain “teachable”.
Never accept defeat.
As long as it's possible to learn, you need never feel tied down by any past defeat in your life. Here's the real fact: nothing can prevent the inwardly self-educating man or woman from succeeding in life. And here's why: wisdom always triumphs over adversity. But to win real wisdom calls you to join in a special kind of struggle. And if this battle had a banner under which to rally, here's what would be written upon that higher call to arms: "But I can find out!" Yes, you can learn the facts. You may not know the real reasons why you feel so lonely or worried at times, but you can find out. And you may not understand how you could have been so blind to that evil person's real intentions, but you can find out. Take these four words that are freedom's battle cry. Use them to defeat what's defeating you.

GRANDFATHER PETERS

Let there be Peace NOW

WANI
The Four Directions.
Keyword------Lessons.
The dimensions of space and time established by the Four Directions are the source of harmony and proportion in the physical world. This means the way our senses teach us the beauty of Creation. The four directions contain all the qualities we can sense, and they also direct us to the four elements of ourselves Air, Water, Earth and Fire, as well as our spirit, emotions, mind and body, In the Creation story Tate, the Wind sent his sons to create the four Sacred Cardinal directions, the west, the east, the south, and the north.
Wani has a deep spiritual meaning to the Lakota nation teachings. Wa means 'snow' and Ni means 'life', as if to say, "I am alive now". The snow melts into the earth so we may all live; the seasonal passing nourishes the Circle of Life. The dimensions of time and space established by the Four Directions are mind and feelings. Life is so beautiful if we can sense all of the directions proportionally, and in harmony. For the teachings of life come equally from all directions.
Wani's message to us.
I am the wind that travels from the four directions, carrying and depositing the seeds of life. Like the snow, my seed disappears in to the Earth only to reappear in a new form.
I am the circle of your consciousness, which grows and expands, through experience, to the place of beauty, the place where all life is known to be celebration and joy.
I am the cry of the newborn child, who feels the first pangs of separation and wholeness. I am the cry of all life that comes into awareness of this mystery.
Dear ones do not stop that which is growing. Allow the garden of life to give freely of its gifts to you, in all forms, even until you drop the robe of this life, which is no ending but a continuation of the Circle of Life.

Guidance and Reflection.
The lessons of life come from each of the four directions. Some of these lessons are difficult, some immediately clear. There are those that take a long time to learn, others that immediately erupt, creating upheaval in our lives. There are important lessons that seem baffling, elusive. At any moment, a new lesson may be presenting itself to us, but we are not always aware of the gifts being offered. But we should always remember that no lessons are left unlearned, they just need a little more understanding.
So be awake to the lessons in your life. Open your eyes and take in the messages coming to you from all directions. Relax into the centre of the four-cornered circle, into the within the within. Allow the teachings to surround you and uplift you, taking you forward into new territory and new lessons. For this is growth, this is life, this is the beauty way.
Although at times you may feel as if you are being pulled in all directions at once, in a tailspin. Or you feel there is no support, trust and know that the lessons are always presented when you are ready and not before. Ask for direction and help and the teachers will appear.
Affirmation.
I acknowledge that the seed to all life resides within me. I will create a fertile place for this seed to grow, nurturing it with love, beauty. I will allow it create that what is for the highest good of all.

Grandfather's Prayer for Today

GRANDFATHER’S PRAYER FOR TODAY
Help me today, to keep an open mind and heart to be able to learn something new today
.
Watch for the opportunity to learn something new.
Everything is changing all the time. That means life is an endless occasion for learning something new. But this means more than meets the eye. Just as you're a part of everything, everything is a part of you. The whole of life is connected. And your ability to learn is part of the wonder of this complete, but ever-changing, whole. Learning serves as a window, not only into the complex world you see around you, but through it you may also look into the you, that's busy looking into the world. And when you've learned there's no end to what you can see about the amazing worlds spinning both around and within you, you'll also know there's no end to you. So stay awake. Learn something new every day. You'll love how that makes you feel about yourself.

GRANDFATHER’S PRAYER FOR TODAY.
Great One, help me today to face any problem—head on.
Don't take the easy way.
There's no getting away from what you don't know, which is why any time you feel compelled to go around a problem by taking the easy way, that problem always comes round again. And isn't that what makes life seem so hard? Learn to see the "easy way" as a lying thought that keeps you tied up and doing hard time. Getting something over with is not the same as having it completed. And as this insight grows, so will your understanding that the whole idea of the "hard way" has always been just a lying thought as well. Now you know: the complete way is the easy way. So volunteer to make the "hard way" your way and learn the real easy way.

Grandfather's Prayer for Today

GRANDFATHER’S PRAYER FOR TODAY
Great Spirit,Help me to see through my spiritual eyes, And realise I am looking through your eyes also.

"Everything on our dear Mother Earth is alive. Every rock, every plant, every animal, every tree, every bird, every thought is alive. This is true because everything is made and part of the Great Spirit and the Great Spirit is alive. We need to slow our lives down each day and realize, consciously, that this is a basic truth. We need to recognize this, and absorb it into the centre of our being. We need to appreciate it and give thanks for it. Then we can truly grow with it

In the Indian way, we are connected to that flower if we understand its spirit, the essence of its life." --Larry P. Aitken, CHIPPEWA

Grandfather's Prayer for Today

GRANDFATHER'S PRAYER FOR TODAY.
My Prayer to you today my Creator is that you help us all seek Peace and Justice in all our endeavours.

Nothing will work without Peace,
Peace only comes through work,
Work for peace and nothing becomes everything,
Never think that thoughts of peace are soft.
Thoughts of peace show an inner strength.
May thoughts of peace be your guiding light.
Peace comes from a sense of Justice for all.
All require peace but many are unable to know it.
Knowing comes from being at peace.
Peace is gentle, it is kind,
It is not just a state of mind.
Peace is not just an idle whim.
To be at peace one must go within,
To find the gentle waters that ebb and flow,
To find the warmth of your inner glow.
Thoughts of peace journey far,
They are felt beyond the farthest star.
They are felt by the grandfathers’
Who sit in circle in their sacred robes.
Around the ancient campfires is their abode!
They join with you and dance the dance,
And pray that we all
“Give Peace a Chance"

SUMMER SOLSTICE

THE SUMMER SOLSTICE
21st JUNE
The Festival of the North
Together with the growing light we travel another month and a half around the Sun, and on the longest day of the year we celebrate the Summer Solstice. It is the Festival of the north, because there is no night in the north of the Earth and the Sun will be shining for twenty four hours. Here the secret of the Sun is revealed and says to us “Behold, as you see me now, throughout the round of night and day, so I am with you always, even if you cannot see me." The light of the Great Father shines in all its brilliance and energises us with his masculine power. In the light of the summer sun everything comes to blossom. The highest point of the Sun fills us with the power of the animal spirits. The North is the place of the animals on the Shamanic Medicine Wheel, and at this time our animal allies and totems come to us with all their power. They help us to enlighten our heart so we can set our inner animal free so that its instinct, its clarity of action and knowledge may take hold in our minds. Our Ancestors symbolically lit bonfires at this time that burnt day and night, symbolising the Sun burning all day and night in the North. The fires helped and can help us purify ourselves by thrusting our false thinking into the flames. Through this purification our Higher Self bursts from its cocoon of Lower Self and shines in the centre of the Heavens like the Pole Star in which all knowledge, logic and power of mind are integrated.
We start to respect ourselves and the role of others; if we call upon the sacred four and fourteen for help-- they talk to us directly on this day. We can throw of our ego and unite with our animal nature and our ally in the realm of the animals, who will give us guidance and direction during the upcoming descent into the dankness. For in the ensuring days ahead our Great father Sun will leave his lofty throne and begin his descent into the depth of the dark realm. Thus, at the Sun's highest point, we are celebrating also the reappearance of darkness.

GRANDFATHER'S PRAYER FOR TODAY
May we never forget that what we do today has been influenced by what we did yesterday and will influence what we do tomorrow and seven generations into the future.

THE PROMISE OF OUR TOMORROWS
The promise of our tomorrows depends on how we honour the blessings that are ours today.
Can you hear the voices of the children yet unborn.
Do they call to you with gratitude, or do you hear their scorn?
Are we so wrapped up in taking that we forget to give?
Do we waste the abundance of resources and forget how the children will live?
Have we killed the promise of tomorrows yet to be?
Or will we stop the plunder of greed’s insanity?
The children of the future sing out in the night.
Their song asks for mercy, a release from their plight.
You can make a difference, you can show you care.
By honouring all the blessings you have,
IF YOU DARE!
Have courage and be proud of all the love you can give.
It is felt by the children yet to live.

Grandfather's Prayer for Today

GRANDFATHER’S PRAYER FOR TODAY.
My Creator, help me never to be ashamed of reaping what I have sown.

"Our death is not an end if we can live on in our children and the younger generation. For they are us; our bodies are only wilted leaves on the tree of life."
"There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle."
"The ideals which have lighted my way and time after time have given me new courage to face life cheerfully, have been kindness, beauty, and truth. The trite subjects of human efforts, possessions, outward success, and luxury have always seemed to me contemptible."

"We should take care not to make the intellect our god; it has, of course, powerful muscles, but no personality."

"The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing. One cannot help but be in awe when he contemplates the mysteries of eternity, of life, of the marvelous structure of reality. It is enough if one tries merely to comprehend a little of this mystery every day. Never lose a holy curiosity."

"Peace cannot be kept by force. It can only be achieved by understanding."

"The effort to get at the truth has to precede all other efforts."

"In the middle of every difficulty, lies opportunity."

"Oh, Youth: Do you know that yours is not the first generation to yearn for a life full of beauty and freedom? Do you know that all your ancestors felt the same as you do and fell victim to trouble and hatred? Do you know also that your fervent wishes can only find fulfilment if you succeed in attaining a love and an understanding of people and animals, and plants, and stars, so that every joy becomes your joy and every pain, your pain?"

"Look deep, deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better."
"One should not pursue goals that are easily achieved. One must develop an instinct for what one can just barely achieve through one's greatest efforts."

"The most important human endeavor is the striving for morality in our actions. Our inner balance and even our very existence depend on it. Only morality in our actions can give beauty and dignity to life."

"To become truly loving, find someone who truly loves. Empty yourself, and let their love fill you. Then, keep not the love you have found to yourself. For only in giving it away, will you always have it."

Every man stamps his value
On himself...man is made great
Or small by his sown will.

Grandfather's Prayer for Today

GRANDFATHER'S PRAYER FOR TODAY

My Creator, in the remembering times may I never forget the memories you have blessed me with.

Throwing the Memory Back
Our old ones talk of throwing the memory back and usually accompany this with the hand movement, The hand movement is one of a cupped palm that starts at the ear and continues past the back of the head. It appears to be a gesture of telling someone to come toward you but is meant to throw something over the shoulder and past the head. This is the throwing of the memory back.
We all carry a genetic coding for our bodies and our people also know that we carry a genetic memory coding. This memory goes beyond this time and lets us connect with our ancient ancestors and their times. We carry them sometimes in the story telling, also in the knowing about things with no prior physical connection and with a "gut feeling".
It is a relating in all ways both with the mind the body, spirit and soul. This way is not unique to the American Natives but to all cultures and people. Many have forgotten how to remember, and have never been taught or are unaware how, so are now seeking their connection through other cultures and heritages.
The good thing about getting old is that you have some memories to fall back on and to remember.

Like the first sight of your first-born's head appearing into the world.
The smile and feeble gripping of the hand as a loved passed over onto the blue road.
Seeing a pack of wolves come into your camp after calling them in for two months.
Seeing the sunset while sailing among the Caribbean Islands.
So much to remember, and very little time to forget.

I have certainly been blessed.

Grandfather's Prayer for Today

GRANDFATHER'S PRAYER FOR TODAY
My Creator, help me today to give equal time and honour to both sides of myself-- the male and female, the good and bad, the light and dark, giving and receiving, knowing everything has duality in the seen and unseen worlds

The combination of heart and mind is very powerful. The Medicine Wheel teaches that two worlds exist -- the seen and the unseen. The seen world is the physical and the unseen is the spiritual world. Both of the worlds are necessary to discover true reality. The male side easiest sees the seen world. The female side easiest sees the unseen. The heart is the unseen and the mind is the seen. Couple this with our feelings and our spirit we bring harmony to the centre of our being.

Grandfather's Prayer for Today

GRANDFATHER'S PRAYER FOR TODAY.
My Creator, help me to seek the truth within myself and help me remove any hypocrisy and arrogance within my heart.

In the very beginning,The Creator gave us teachings to live by. These teachings lived in our hearts as spiritual truths that brought us abundant joy as we walked hand in hand with Great Spirit. We knew how to love, honour, and respect our fellow brothers and sisters. In Native American culture, these teachings were passed on by stories, and other word of mouth teachings during times of family and community bonding. These were precious times, part of Indian culture. However, we taught our children most of all by the way we lived, especially how we treated others, how we treated all creation with respect, and how we lived in the will of Great Spirit. Many of us yearn to return to this mode of living, and believe we can. For most of us, the statement "Abstain from doing evil” is pretty clear. However, more understanding can be gained from the wisdom of ancient Hindu writings, and teachings of ancient Jewish sages, that will help us learn to walk the Red
Road in harmony with Great Spirit and thereby regain more peace with all things. How we treat others is who we become. The more hurtful things we do or say to others, or about others, the more tendencies we create within ourselves to do these things. We grow more and more into mean-spirited hurtful people who turn their backs on the Creator. We move into gloom and a darker state of being. Evil behaviour is an addiction that feeds on itself. However there is a cure. The reverse is also true. The more we perform kind actions, with an attitude of unconditional love, and treat others with love, tolerance, and respect, the more these tendencies will begin to grow within our own hearts. We will move closer and closer to walking in harmony with Great Spirit. Our joy will grow in direct proportion to our attitudes of unconditional love accompanied by actions performed with loving-kindness. We can regain true culture as that practiced by our ancestors. When we break old habits of evil tendencies, and develop new loving habits, we will become true Two-legged who walk harmoniously with Creator.
May Great Spirit guide you in your Earth walk.

Grandfather's Prayer for Today

GRANDFATHER'S PRAYER FOR TODAY.
My Creator, teach me today to know the true meaning of compassion.

Do we really know what compassion is? Very often we get compassion mixed up with sympathy. Sympathy is often defined into getting into another's feelings to share their feelings. Compassion goes much further. I believe it is not so much in getting into another's feelings but to understand that we all have our own feelings and the sharing comes in the unconditional support we can give to each other in times of grief. This is much in evidence today with the needless slaughter of innocent people, especially the children, in the world today. The outgoing solidarity of grief and the support for those close to them in their grief is a good example of compassion.
The elders and wise religious leaders say one never really knows compassion unless one has suffered and sacrificed oneself for the good of all. One never can learn and understand what unconditional love really is unless one has suffered the lack of love.
Maybe we should start by loving ourselves more and being a bit more compassionate to ourselves. By stopping beating ourselves up we may find how to stop beating up on others.
May our tears of compassion be felt to all who need our unconditional love!

GRANDFATHER’S PRAYER FOR TODAY.
I pray today that I will always believe and have faith. For in trusting to believe I know.

"I BELIEVE"I believethat we don't have to change friendsif we understand that friends change.
I believe-that no matter how good a friend is,they're going to hurt you everyonce in a while and you must forgivethem for that.
I believe-that true friendship continues to grow, even over the longest distance.Same goes for true love.
I believe-that you can do something in an instantthat will give you heartache for life.
I believe-that it's taking me a long timeto become the person I want to be.
I believe-that you should always leave loved oneswith loving words. It may be the lasttime you see them.
I believe-that you can keep goinglong after you can't.I believe-that we are responsible for what we do,no matter how we feel.
I believe-that either you control your attitudeor it controls you.
I believe-that regardless of how hot andsteamy a relationship is at first, the passion fades and there hadbetter be something else to takeits place.
I believe-that heroes are the peoplewho do what has to be donewhen it needs to be done, regardless of the consequences.
I believe-that money is a lousy way of keeping score.
I believe-that my best friend and I can do anythingor nothing and have the best time.
I believe-that sometimes the people you expectto kick you when you're down, will be the ones to help you get back up.I believe-that sometimes when I'm angry
I believe have the right to be angry, but that doesn't give methe right to be cruel.
I believe-that just because someone doesn't loveyou the way you want them to doesn'tmean they don't love you with all they have.
I believe-that maturity has more to do withwhat types of experiences you've hadand what you've learned from themand less to do with how manybirthdays you've celebrated.
I believe-that it isn't always enough to beforgiven by others. Sometimes youhave to learn to forgive yourself.
I believe-that no matter how bad your heart is brokenthe world doesn't stop for your grief.I believe-that our background and circumstancesmay have influenced who we are,but we are responsible for who we become.
I believe-that just because two people argue,it doesn't mean they don't love each otherAnd just because they don't argue,it doesn't mean they do.
I believe-that you shouldn't be so eager to find out asecret. It could change your life forever.I believe-that two people can look at the exact samething and see something totally different.
I believe-that your life can be changed in a matter ofhours by people who don't even know you.
I believe-that even when you think you have no moreto give, when a friend cries out to youyou will find the strength to help.

Tradition
Air is one of the four elemental sprits. The air that we breathe is said to be the soul of the individual, the soul of humanity. It is the essence of our spirit. The Creator is in each breath of air we take into our lungs. He is in us and everywhere, the negative and positive of life itself. Every breath we take has been used and recycled by another life form before us-- maybe an animal, plant, fish or even a dinosaur. Just think you are breathing air that was once used by your ancestors and by the great teachers and wise ones. Feel honoured that you are sharing the breath that Buddha, Jesus Christ once breathed into their lungs. For they also shared the breath of life from the Creator.

Message from Inyan.
As one of the four sacred elements, I support and sustain you. The motion of Skan speaks to you through me, as I am ever changing. Yet I lead you to the One Source, for the breath you draw to sustain your own personal being is shared by the entire living world. Just think on this!
My path leads directly to the one who loves you. Know this, and acknowledge your Source with each breath. Inhale the force of the dream from which you come. Feel me as I permeate every cell in your body. Recognise the presence of all that share in this dream. Exhale this love into the world, for this is the gift I give to you.

Guidance and Reflection
Breath in with gratitude and joy all that life has to offer you. Become conscious of the life-giving properties of the air surrounding you. Even though we as a human family are suffering from the pollution and poisons we have put in the air, it is up to us all to do our utmost to clean up the air, for future generations. For it may be to late if we leave it up to them. We can start by using our thoughts of beauty, joy, peace, and love and extend them around the world and in everything we do. Do this and you will be circulating these thoughts to all our brothers and sisters.
If you feel you are not living your life fully, then practise breathing in a little air at a time, slowly increasing the flow with each breath. Call on the Dolphin, and this friend will teach you about Life force. Let your lungs expand with full, deep breaths, just like the dolphin. As you do, allow your consciousness of life to expand within you and enter into all that life has to offer you. You have the right to "breathe in" all that you can and to experience the joy of being alive.
Breath is like a prayer. The Creator is in each breath you take, and your thoughts and intentions are in each exhalation. In times of stress, breathe deeply concentrating on your breathing process, letting the air circulate throughout, relaxing each part of your body in turn. We share the same air with everyone; remember you are breathing in the same air the wise ones once breathed. Let us pray we will give honour to them and there will always be enough for everyone.

Grandfather's Prayer for Today

GRANDFATHER'S PRAYER FOR TODAY.
Thank you my Creator for allowing me to be human, but in doing so helps me realise I am
!

TATANKA OYATE
THE BISON NATION/MAN
Attainment.
In Lakota tradition the ninth Great Mystery is the creation of Humankind on earth. Tatanka is the Lakota name given to the Bison or Buffalo. But the name does not truly convey the true spiritual significance attached to the Buffalo. The ancient name Pte′ meant "the people", in harmony, "realising the highest form." Tatanka Pte′, "the people of the buffalo (bison)"signifies the interrelationship of the bison with the people who used every part of the great beast for sustenance and survival
The White Buffalo Calf Woman, Pte san Wi, is the prophet who came to teach the sacred ways to the people. Her gifts of the Sacred Pipe and its ceremony are also derived from the spiritual energy of the buffalo.
The sacred chant and song says "A Bison nation is walking, A Bison nation is walking…. I give you this beautiful earth, and upon it you shall live and multiply. I give you the Sacred Pipe, and with it you shall come to the centre of the earth. All that you ask will be given to you."
TATANKA OYATE'S Message
I am here with you: Spirit of the Bison Nation, Spirit of the creation of Humanity. I saw fit to put upon the Earth one who would live different from his brothers and sisters, yet not; one who would join together the spirit of all beings, yet remain intact. I am present in this day among you. Do not deny me for I seek recognition from you. I am the very essence of animal/ human kinship. I am that, Aho Mitakuye Oyasin (to all my Relations).
REFLECTION and GUIDANCE.
It is time to give yourself the credit you deserve for being human. Through past actions and faith you are where you are today. You are always growing into something carrying with you the talents and gifts you have been given and learnt. Acknowledging this allows you attain your highest goals on both a spiritual and physical level. But never forget to give thanks for all you have attained as well as congratulating yourself for a job well done. You are where you are through patience and perseverance, even though you may not realise it.
Maybe you have not yet achieved the fruits of your labour. Just use all your resources, gifts and skills more fully. Keep the faith and be patient-- success is on the way. There is so much for all us to accomplish in our lives, and it is all there, waiting for us, one step at a time.

Grandfather's Prayer for Today

GRANDFATHER'S PRAYER FOR TODAY.
Thank you my Creator for allowing me to be different, but may I always remember
"We are all one Tribe"

To most of us these words make logical sense. When we look at our brothers and sisters of the human family we are pretty well the same. We are born with two arms and two legs, we all have a head on our shoulders. We all need to eat and go to the toilet. We all also have part of the Great Spirit within us. Maybe it is this sameness that gets us into trouble and we tend to take it for granted.
In this world we seem to concentrate on the differences we perceive, which lead to separation. We are all very quick to be judgmental about the differences, be it religious beliefs, cultural background, language, ethnic origin, and the colour of ones skin.
The old ones gave honour to the differences in each of us. When they sat in circle they acknowledged each of us came from the same source, but each person saw every situation from a different perspective. By giving honour to everyone's point of view and there being a right to have a variety of opinions, everything could be discussed, resulting invariably in the right decision that benefited the whole.
Next time we are quick to voice an opinion or judge another maybe we should imagine ourselves in that person's shoes and try to see the picture as they see it.
We may see we are pretty much the same after all!

Grandfather's Prayer for Today

GRANDFATHER'S PRAYER FOR TODAY.
Giver of Life, help me use reason to bring righteousness and justice into my life and all I do.

An Iroquois Saying
Peace is not only the opposite of war; it is not only the time in-between wars.... Peace is more. It is the Law of life. It is when we conduct ourselves righteously and between every single being, justice reigns.

Righteousness is a shared ideology of people putting their minds and emotions in harmony with the flow of the universe and the intentions of the Creator. It demands all thoughts of prejudice, privilege or superiority be swept away and to recognise that that creation is intended for all equally, even the animals, birds, trees and insects. The World does not belong to us humans but is the property of the Creator. Everything we have, profess to own, create, or give away does not belong to us but belongs to all that is, The Creator.
Reason is the ability for the human mind to make righteous decisions about complicated issues. We were given the power of reason in order that we may settle any differences without the use of force. Force should be used as an absolute last resort and only as a defence against the certain use of force. All humans whose minds are healthy desire peace, and should make every effort to maintain it. Using the principles of righteousness is a spark within each of us which society as a whole must encourage and nurture that it may grow. Reason is seen as the skill which humans must be encouraged to acquire in order that the objectives of justice may be attained and no one's rights abused.

Grandfather's Prayer for Today

GRANDFATHER'S PRAYER FOR TODAY.
I closed my eyes today, and in the silence, found you waiting there for me. Thank you My Creator for waiting.

Our eyes can only see our beliefs. Our beliefs cause us to make assumptions, draw conclusions and cause confusion. Our five senses are very limiting. The Creator has a way of allowing us to see or know the spiritual world. This is called the Sixth Sense. The Sixth Sense is like a radar system; our personal radar system. It will help us "see" opportunities and help us avoid disaster. This Sixth Sense is a direct connection to the Creator. We must learn to listen to it. We must learn to trust it. We must learn to act on it even if our head says differently. We must learn to look at things through our spiritual eyes, for they are also the eyes of the Great One.
BE STILL, CLOSE YOUR EYES, AND SEE FROM YOUR HEART, AND YOU WILL SEE YOUR TRUTH!

GRANDFATHER'S PRAYER FOR TODAY

My Creator, may I always remember that you will only present me with situations I am capable of handling at any one time.
If I find any situation hard to handle, may I always remember the wise words
“Ask and it shall be given”
“Seek and you will find”

Grandfather's Prayer for Today

GRANDFATHER'S PRAYER FOR TODAY

A prayer for the New Year

My Creator, hear my prayer! I ask that whenever the leaders of the world's peoples confer together to make decisions that effect us all, that they use their power wisely. May they always remember:
'What goes around, comes around'

Wisdom of the Circle
I cannot help but wonder where all the people are who were so supportive of the original teachings. I think the shift in the energy of how and what was taught has changed so and many are disillusioned from it. All things are changing in this world so fast we all need to keep our eyes focused on the outcome and what it will do to affect the future. Those people who cannot walk into the next world without control and material issues will not be able to function for the good of all. People of competitive nature will not be able to control or use mind strategy to control others to do there bidding.
The teachings are for all the people and are there to share so we need to continue to do this. Community is what will come out of all of this work and change. People will learn that in order to be accepted they must first earn the right to that and cannot walk on the backs of others to obtain power. People are more aware of the issues that motivate the greedy and will make a protection of energy to keep this sort of negative energy from harming their circle. It will take strong leaders and ones not afraid to confront others and sit and talk these issues out. People will be asking to discuss their personal issues and to make peace within the hoop of community in order to survive. The talking sticks will be used for this and four mediators will sit in council. A consensus will be reached and the issue will then be dismissed never to be brought up again in council. If this is not agreed on by all then the one who cannot live with this will have a choice to leave or conform for the good of the circle.
This is the way to keep a strong and whole circle. All it takes is a person, who is running their issues and draining energy from the circle for there own use and not as a healing, to destroy the work of many who have agreed to live in harmony.
